Outside of the mod, bears are completely worthwhile in taming, same for wolves, if you've never tried to tame them. also tamed one of the large boar-like animals (its name eludes me right now), but slaughtered him too. i ended up slaughtering the chalicotherium, as they dont produce milk or wool. also was able to purchase some woolly rhinos (elasmotherium) from an exotic goods trade ship. he lost an arm and a leg in the encounter, and my other colonists ended up killing the saber kitties in his rescue.Īltho i have been able to tame chalicotherium (after a manhunting pack of them) and tamed some woolly mammoths. 6 smilodons ripping into my tamer as he struggled to make it back out of the door. when the one attacked after the failed tame, the rest also went back into manhunter mode. Unfortunately they have a crazy high chance to attack on failed tame attempt, and one of my tamers had this happen to him. set a stockpile in there for kibble to keep them fed so they wouldnt try to break out, or eat my tamers when they went in and tried to tame.

was able to rescue about 6 of the downed ones after killing the rest, had them all stashed in a nearby ancient danger i had previously cleared. I use the megafauna mod (great mod), and had a manhunter pack of smilodons at one point.
